Jay Landham - Director of Goalkeeping

This is a major find for the club as Coach Landham also serves as the Assistant coach/Goalkeeping coach for University of Northern Colorado Woman's soccer program.  His addition will allow every goalkeeper to receive specific training  during their team's practice and execute what they have upon rejoining their team's practice. Coach Landham also has the opportunity to provide relevant sessions as he can view the players in their environment, in game situations and/or scrimmages.

Director of Coaching ,Garry Guyan:  "Since arriving at the club, I identified that goalkeeping, and the training offered to our goalkeepers was something I wanted to improve upon. In Jay, we have invested in not only a coach from the highest collegiate level, but a coach who is educated, enthusiastic and has excellent playing experience.  All these traits match the profile of what I want in a coach at Northern Colorado Rush.  I am looking forward to working with Jay and allowing us to offer the best environment for players to develop in our area.

For the past four seasons, Landham has coached on a myriad of levels throughout the soccer world. He has served as the assistant coach at several high schools, junior and club programs and at the NCAA DII level with his alma mater Union University.

As the Varsity assistant coach and head goalkeeper coach at Union University, Landham was part of the staff that led the Bulldogs to a 2012 NCCAA Men’s Soccer MidEast Region Tournament championship and a third place finish in the National Tournament. Goalkeeper Rainer Pires finished as the All-Tournament Goalkeeper.

A distinguished goalkeeper in his own right, Landham graduated from Union University in Tennessee in 2012. As the Bulldogs net minder for all four years, Landham earned Freshmen athlete of year, seven conference player of the week awards, three total goalkeeper of the year honors and was elected team captain his junior and senior year.

Upon graduation, Landham spent two weeks with the Major League Soccer Franchise, the Colorado Rapids. He also received a first-team goalkeeper award the Orange Beach Alabama Men’s Tourbeau Soccer Combine.
