Lifetime Achiever: Judge Andrew Borg, Jr.

Lifetime Achiever: Andrew Borg

To honor Judge Andrew Borg, Jr., Northern Colorado Rush's financial assistance program is proudly called the Borg Helping Hand Fund. Established 25 years ago, the fund was originally put into place to help finance fields. Now, The Borg Helping Hand Fund provides valuable money for players who would not otherwise be able to afford to play soccer.

Judge Borg's legacy lives on through all of the players who receive this fund and we would like to honor him this November.

About Judge Andrew Borg, Jr.

Judge Andrew Borg, Jr. died suddenly in October 1992 while driving home from a youth soccer game.  Andy has five sons in the club.  He was also President of the Board of Directors, a coach, a referee, and helped many families by purchasing cleats, membership dues and uniforms for players.  He was instrumental in establishing a varsity high school soccer program at District #6 where he is honored every year as the MVP of the boys West-Central receives the Andrew Borg Award.  He was an avid supporter Bootleggers and believed soccer was a terrific game and also builds character and teaches young people how to persevere and be resilient.

In 1992, a fund was established in his name.  Today the Borg Helping Hand Fund exists providing financial support to players who might not receive the opportunity to play club soccer.  The Borg Helping Hand Fund has grown to over $130,000.
